Production Support Engineer

The Role

Join our team to support Post Production Services, including Dailies, Editorial, Footage Ingest, and Screening Operations. You will provide expert support to our productions and creative artists, ensuring our support and edit suites are optimized to meet filmmakers creative needs. Collaborate with key technology teams across the Studio to deliver high-level support and align with our technical vision. You should excel under pressure, possess exceptional client service skills, are a quick learner, and adapt swiftly to changing needs. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

● Collaborate closely with Artists and Editors.

● Offer support for local and remote Editorial teams. ● Support collaboration tools like Colorfront Streaming and Clearview Flex.

● Implement and maintain Audio and Video calibration standards for our edit rooms. ● Oversee preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of studio equipment.

● Develop processes for maintaining, tracking, and repairing studio equipment.

● Escalate issues to Management, Engineering Services, and Infrastructure teams as needed.

● Conduct training sessions on new technology deployments.

● Document quality standards, system anomalies, operational procedures, and project work.

● Work closely with internal engineering teams, providing concise issue reporting and Production context to meet the studios creative and technical needs.

● Establish and communicate technology strategies to support studio growth.

● Manage all aspects of the companys technology needs, including operational support, infrastructure maintenance, and post-production workflows.

● Research and recommend leading-edge technologies and equipment purchases.

● Collaborate with production leadership to ensure technology solutions support creative content creation and efficiency goals.

● Maintain strong relationships with software and hardware vendors.

Qualifications:

● Fluent in Japanese is a plus

● 3+ years of experience in facility engineering and/or technology roles within Animation, Post Production, or VFX Studios.

● Deep understanding of IP networking, Network storage, and Workstation architectures.

● Strong Knowledge of video and audio transport protocols such as Baseband SDI, HDMI, and AES3

● Strong knowledge of IP streaming protocols such as ST2110, NDI and AES67

● Experienced with VLAN configuration.

● Experience with Virtual Machine configuration.

● Knowledge and experience on Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.

● Color Science background is a plus.

● Extensive knowledge of content creation and post-production workflows

● Proven track record of innovation, initiative, creativity, and implementation.

● Experience with Crestron and Q-Sys control systems is a plus.

● Experience with post-production systems integration.

● Experience in communicating with post-production end-user stakeholder teams.

● Strong communication skills with proven ability to socialize, explain and promote new and complex technology, tools, and workflows

● Ability to respond after hours for important, timely, and urgent matters.
